The special events committee handles all events that do not fall under any other heading including speakers, dance troupes or anything else. Some examples from the past include the dance crew Battle in Baldwin, Frank Warren (author of PostSecret), indoor ice skating, Recycled Percussion, speaker Patch Adams, magician Justin Kredible, chainsaw juggle Mad Chad and more!

Rachel is a Junior Communication major at Truman; her hometown is in St. Charles, MO. She joined the board in the Spring of 2015, and her favorite SAB event was the Smallpools and Misterwives Concert. She loves Truman because when she walks through campus, she sees so many friendly faces and people she knows, which is something that she feels bigger schools don’t have. Outside of class and SAB, Rachel is involved in Delta Zeta, Club Volleyball, Communication Club, Newman, KTRM, and Up ‘Til Dawn. Her hobbies include hanging with friends, jamming out to music, and spending time with family. Rachel’s dream job would be as an artist manager.
Noelle is a Junior Computer Science and Linguistics double major at Truman; her hometown is Atascadero, CA. She joined the board in Spring of 2016, and her favorite SAB event so far has been David Garibaldi. She loves Truman because of community that forms by result of the work ethic and ambition of the students. Outside of class and SAB, Noelle is involved in Delta Phi Epsilon and Love Your Melon. Her hobbies include napping, surfing, writing, reading, and baking. Noelle’s dream is to work in the FBI in language processing.
Hannah is a Freshman Communication Disorders and Exercise Science major; her hometown is Clarendon Hills, IL. She joined the board in the Fall of 2016. She loves Truman because everyone is so friendly, it’s a great atmosphere, and it feels like home to her. Outside of class and SAB, Hannah is involved in CCF and Pershing Society. Her hobbies include hanging with friends, hammocking, hiking, playing sports and watching Netflix. Hannah’s dream job is either a special education teacher or a occupational therapist.
Brandon is a Junior Computer Science major; his hometown is West Point, IL. He joined the board in the Fall of 2016. He loves Truman because of the diversity that is facilitated by the numerous student organizations. Outside of class and SAB, Brandon is involved in the Campus Crusade for Christ Leadership Team. His hobbies include reading, writing, gaming, ultimate frisbee, and learning new CS languages. Brandon’s dream job would be in software production management.
Carly is a Senior English and Political Science double major at Truman; her hometown is in St. Louis, MO. She joined the board in the Fall of 2015, and her favorite SAB event was Frank Abagnale Jr. She loves Truman because of all the Harry Potter fans. Outside of class and SAB, Carly is an Apartment Manager for Residence Life and a member of the Mock Trials Team. Her hobbies include participating in or watching any form of live entertainment & snuggling with puppies.. Carly’s goal after college is to go to law school.
