Student Activities Board

The Student Activities Board is comprised of 35 student members. Members are selected through an application and interview process conducted by three members of SAB, one student at large, the advisor of SAB, and one representative from either Student Senate or the Funds Allotment Council.

Applications for open positions are available at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. Applications are kept in the Center for Student Involvement, located on the lower level of the Student Union. After the application has been received, the selections committee reviews them and grants a first interview. After the first interviews, the selections committee then grants a second interview to their finalists. After the second interview, selections are made to fill the open positions.

SAB selections may also be conducted in April if SAB determines that it needs to fill any open positions before the summer. If they choose not to, those positions will remain open until the fall selection process. At least five positions are open each fall, with three of these being reserved for freshmen.

Once on SAB, members must reapply each spring to state their intent to remain on SAB for the following year.

Be sure to keep your eyes open for posters on campus that will advertise SAB selections. You can always contact our office at 785-4722 or by email at sab@truman.edu with any questions you may have about this.
